Duggan, 43, grew up in Austin and received a business degree from The University of Texas in 1986 and a law degree from Texas Tech Law School in 1989. His career as an attorney has included 17 years as a prosecutor. He served as a Briefing Attorney for Eastland Court of Appeals under Judge William G. “Bud” Arnot; a misdemeanor prosecutor for the Travis County Attorney; and a felony prosecutor for the Travis County District Attorney, where he has been assigned to several posts, including Drug Diversion Court, the Motor Vehicle Theft Unit, Community Prosecution and the Motor Fuel Tax Fraud Division of the Public Integrity Unit.

Chris Duggan, a longtime resident of central Texas and a resident of Bastrop County for over 10 years, announced his candidacy for the new 423rd District Court created last session by the Texas Legislature for Bastrop County.
